Astoria Pub is a long-running East Hastings bar and events room with a strong punk, rock, alternative and indie identity. The room is built for live bands rather than background entertainment, and music events are typically 19+. Artists can bring volume, edge and a full club set without fighting the venue's personality. Bands rooted in alternative scenes should find the audience and atmosphere naturally aligned.

Container Brewing is an East Vancouver craft taproom with a patio, food partnership and live music as a regular part of the room. Rock, indie, acoustic and local acts all fit, with enough edge in the neighborhood to support something more interesting than generic brewery covers. Performers who can keep the energy up in a social room should feel comfortable here. All ages are welcome.
