Musiikki Café & Whiskey Bar is one of Kingston’s most musician-oriented small rooms, with live music every night, multiple stages and in-house sound. Jazz, folk, indie, acoustic, rock and experimental acts all have a place here, and the frequency of programming creates a crowd that understands live music. It is all ages until 11 PM, after which guests under 19 leave, so the room naturally shifts later in the evening.

Acoustic artists, singer-songwriters and local music are a natural match for the relaxed taproom environment. The room works best for performers who can create personality and atmosphere without leaning on oversized production.

The Buckle is a downtown Kingston bar with weekly live music, open mic and a steady flow of local and touring acts. Country, rock and acoustic performers fit the room naturally, and the all-ages policy widens the audience beyond a standard late-night bar crowd. Artists who are comfortable interacting directly with people should get the most out of the space.
Read the whole thingTir Nan Og is a Kingston Irish pub with Celtic, rock, swing, folk and other ensemble music in regular rotation. The all-ages setup and pub atmosphere create a mixed crowd, so bands that can be lively without becoming punishingly loud will have the edge. Celtic and folk-rooted acts fit particularly naturally, but the room is broad enough for a wider range of social live music.
