Mac's Speed Shop

Mac’s Speed Shop is a Wednesday-and-Friday barbecue-and-craft-beer room with warm-weather patio shows, over 200 beers, and a strict small-format rule: solo, duo, or trio only, no drums. This is a lean-gig operation, not a place for a band to discover its inner stadium production among the brisket. Artists are paid by corporate check and must submit a W-9. A tip jar is allowed without solicitation, and performers provide their own PA and mics. That is a complete practical blueprint. Email early with a live clip, lineup, dates, and proof that your setup fits the no-drums format. Bring the tax form energy, which is to say: bring the actual form before human bureaucracy begins chewing on your payout. Confirm patio placement, power, load-in, soundcheck, weather plan, volume, set length, food, breaks, payment timing, and whether Wednesday versus Friday changes the audience. Public feedback centers on barbecue, wings, beer, and a casual social stop. The act should bring shape and personality, but not enough volume to make the smokers lose an argument with the snare. Blues, Americana, country, acoustic rock, folk, soul, and compact cover acts are natural fits. A duo with groove can do more here than a larger band trying to apologize for being too loud. Mac’s suits musicians who understand that discipline is not deprivation. Bring a smart small-format show, a tidy PA, and songs that can hold a patio while people decide whether one more beer is a terrible idea.
