Sandhill Wines

Venue review

The musician's read

Sandhill Wines is a Kelowna winery and tasting venue with live music, ticketed shows and private-event space. Full-band use is already part of the venue's format, which gives working groups a more natural fit than a purely acoustic room. Rock and roll is the clearest fit for the room. Because the room is all ages, bands can play to a wider age range than they would in a bar-only setting. Acoustic groups and adaptable bands that can stay engaging at conversation-friendly volume should fit especially well.

97 Street Pub is a pub at Best Western Plus Kelowna with live entertainment and musician bookings. This is a stronger fit for acoustic players and compact ensembles than for a large, high-volume production. Acoustic and singer-songwriter are the clearest fits for the room. It is a 21+ room with an adult audience. This is a working-room gig where crowd connection and a flexible set matter more than elaborate stagecraft.

Barn Owl Brewing is community-focused Kelowna brewery with recurring live music every Sunday and Wednesday. The programming spans Acoustic, Folk, Singer-songwriter, and Multi-genre, giving artists a useful sense of what already works in the room. The venue is set up for limited — recurring live music; verify full-band footprint for larger acts. A brewery crowd is social by nature, so musicians who can hold attention without turning the room into a volume contest should do well here. That combination makes it more useful than a taproom that treats music as an occasional extra.
