Bar Red Sea is a downtown Winnipeg bar, restaurant and nightclub centered on Afrobeats, R&B, hip-hop, reggae, dancehall and DJ-driven events. A September 2026 ticketed night with three live DJs reflects a dance-floor-first audience that comes for energy, rhythm and late-night atmosphere. Musicians considering the room should think less like a traditional band booking and more like part of a themed nightlife program. DJs, vocal performers and urban or Caribbean-influenced acts with strong crowd control should fit best.

Seven8nine Hookah Lounge is a Portage Avenue bar, kitchen and hookah room built around resident DJs and Afrobeats, hip-hop and Caribbean nightlife. The music experience is club-oriented rather than full-band focused. All-ages access broadens the potential crowd, but performers still need to match a late-night, dance-driven room.

Encore Lounge + Patio is a Winnipeg nightlife room hosting live hip-hop, K-pop, Afrobeats and other performance events. The all-ages policy gives the venue a broader youth audience than many club spaces, while the lounge-and-patio setup keeps the night social and high-energy. Artists who can bring a strong visual identity, dance-forward material or a built-in community should be the best match.
Read the whole thingObsidian Ultra Lounge is a south Winnipeg nightlife venue with an underground feel, regular DJs, billiards and occasional artist performances. Electronic, hip-hop and club-oriented acts are the clearest fit, while traditional full-band production is not the room’s main identity. The 21+ crowd is there for atmosphere and movement, so performers need to add energy rather than simply occupy a stage.
