Lucy's Dive Bar is a downtown Marshalltown neighborhood bar with karaoke and a beer-garden live-music program. Alternative folk, acoustic and local performers fit the relaxed outdoor format particularly well. Musicians should expect a casual social crowd and build the set around connection rather than formality.

Midnight Garden is a commercial event venue and restaurant that can accommodate a stage and has already hosted live-band events. Rock, dance and cover bands make sense for its celebration-oriented setting, where the music is likely to drive the room rather than function as background. Bands that are self-contained and comfortable with private-event style audiences should be a good match.
