Venue review
The musician's read
The Back Room is an intimate Berkeley listening room designed for acoustic music, jazz, folk, bluegrass and small ensembles rather than loud full-band production. With a maximum audience around 100 and all-ages access, the focus is squarely on close listening and musical detail. Songwriters and acoustic groups that can hold a room without volume should get much more from this space than high-impact club acts.
