Venue review
The musician's read
The Birdhouse Center for the Arts is a 49-capacity, all-ages Lambertville room built around community, connection, and arts experiences for people of different ages and abilities. Its music schedule runs Wednesday through Sunday, with a monthly acoustic song circle and an open folk jam giving the calendar a clear participatory streak. The venue welcomes all song types and genres, including acoustic work, but this is a small room with a specific community purpose rather than a machine for anonymous touring traffic. Booking starts with one useful detail: put Booking in the email subject so the message arrives wearing the right name tag. The venue provides a stage plus full sound and lighting, while the stated deal is a 60/40 door split in the artist's favor and full retention of merchandise sales. That is unusually legible math, which touring bands should enjoy before the universe adds any of its usual paperwork. Confirm the date, door terms, set time, production needs, age policy, and any local-promotion expectation in writing. Birdhouse suits artists prepared to participate in the room's community as well as play the room.
